ESUNFiber's PLA fiber & PLA non-woven fabric, Providing New Quality Productivity for Green Packaging
From August 7-9, the CIPPME 2024 Shanghai International Packaging Exhibition was held grandly, showcasing a diverse range of packaging solutions, each with its unique features.
ESUNFiber has been deeply involved in the fields of modification, application, and recycling of biodegradable materials for many years. At this exhibition, eSUNFiber focused on showcasing biodegradable materials and multiple sets of green and environmentally friendly solutions, such as biodegradable plastic packaging, paper packaging, fiber, and non-woven fabric packaging, which attracted numerous visitors for consultation.
Among these, biodegradable fiber and non-woven fabric packaging were the "hot topics" of this exhibition!
PLA fiber, known as "eco-fiber," combines the advantages of natural fibers and synthetic chemical fibers. It has multiple features, including skin-friendliness, antibacterial properties, quick-drying, warmth retention, flame retardancy, and biodegradability. Additionally, PLA fiber possesses physical properties similar to polyester and other synthetic materials, such as shape retention, strength, and dimensional stability.
The application prospects of PLA fiber and non-woven fabric products in the packaging industry are broad. Specifically:
In the food industry, due to the antibacterial, breathable, and biodegradable properties of PLA fiber, it can be widely used in various food packaging, such as fruit preservation, tea bags, coffee bags, and other bio-packaging materials.

In the application of disposable non-woven fabric packaging, the biggest advantage of PLA materials lies in their biodegradability. Compared to other synthetic fibers, PLA fiber is easily decomposed in the natural environment, and the resulting carbon dioxide and water do not pollute the environment. Furthermore, these can re-enter the ecological cycle through the photosynthesis of green plants.
ESUNFiber's PLA fiber and non-woven fabric have obtained DIN certification for biodegradability.
For packaging applications in electronics, electrical appliances, and high-end luxury goods, the requirements for durability, protection, and environmental friendliness are emphasized. According to test results, PLA fiber has excellent mechanical properties and a soft touch, meeting the needs of refined products for packaging materials.
Moreover, PLA fiber can also be applied in the clothing and home textile sectors, serving not only as a garment fabric but also as a packaging material for end products, significantly promoting green development in the textile industry.
Overall, in the context of global green development and carbon reduction, environmentally friendly PLA materials offer diverse solutions for the packaging industry. At this exhibition, related applications in biodegradable coated paper packaging and plastic packaging also received inquiries from many domestic and international users.
Developing biomaterials and promoting sustainable development, eSUNFiber welcomes and looks forward to collaborating with upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain to promote the industrial application and innovative development of PLA materials.
