From April 23rd to 26th, the Techtextil 2024 Frankfurt Nonwovens and Technical Textiles Exhibition will be held at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre in Germany.

PLA is a biodegradable material with broad application prospects. It is a synthetic, biodegradable thermoplastic aliphatic polyester polymer primarily derived from renewable plant resources such as corn, cassava, sugarcane, and plant straw. Lactic acid is obtained through microbial fermentation and purification, followed by chemical synthesis to create PLA. The biodegradability of PLA allows it to be entirely decomposed by natural microorganisms after use, ultimately turning into carbon dioxide and water without polluting the environment, making it an eco-friendly material.


PLA's biobased origin is sustainable, with excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, making it the optimal choice to replace traditional plastics.


Polylactic acid fiber and its nonwoven fabric combine the advantages of natural fibers and synthetic fibers, possessing a weak acidity similar to human skin, naturally skin-friendly, antibacterial, anti-mite, anti-allergic, with good moisture permeability, smoothness, breathability, and lustrous appearance. Additionally, textile products made from polylactic acid fiber have the characteristic of being self-extinguishing, ensuring high safety in use. Polylactic acid fiber and nonwoven fabric are increasingly gaining attention and favor.

Introduction to eSUNFiber

Currently,eSUNFiber has one 10,000 tons/year melt-spun polylactic acid fiber production line, one 1,000 tons/year polylactic acid hot air non-woven fabric production line, and three functional polylactic acid fiber production lines. Among them, the three functional polylactic acid fiber production lines have an annual capacity of 5,000 tons and can produce various differentiated products such as three-dimensional curled fibers, dual-component PLA fibers, profiled fiber, polylactic acid yarn, and solution-dyed polylactic acid fibers.


eSUNFiber's polylactic acid fiber and non-woven fabric have successfully passed the compost degradation testing certification by DIN CERTCO (German Institute for Standardization). Regarding product safety, eSUNFiber's polylactic acid non-woven fabric has passed skin sensitization tests, ensuring the product's safety performance. Additionally, through professional testing, eSUNFiber's polylactic acid fiber has demonstrated effective antibacterial properties.


Polylactic acid fibers and nonwoven products feature "bio-based, recyclable, and degradable" characteristics, which drive the development of the polylactic acid fiber nonwoven business. This contributes to enhancing the eco-friendliness of the final products, building a "green cycle" economy, and promoting the achievement of global carbon reduction goals and sustainable development.
