In March 2024, the China Air Transport Association officially released the first group standard concerning the plastic restriction issue in China's civil aviation industry— "Specifications for the Replacement of Disposable Non-degradable Plastic Products on Domestic Passenger Flights" (T/CATAGS 78-2024).

The standard specifies the requirements for replacing disposable, non-degradable plastic products provided on domestic-origin passenger flights.

In the provision regarding biodegradable materials, polylactic acid (PLA) and polycaprolactone (PCL) are explicitly mentioned.
