Application of PLA Needled Non-woven Fabric in Horticulture and Geotextile Materials
PLA Staples can be used to produce PLA Needled Non-woven Fabric, which finds wide applications in geotextile materials, as well as in agriculture, horticulture, and other fields.
Geotextiles are permeable synthetic materials made by needling or weaving fibers. Taking short fiber geotextiles as an example, they have good flexibility, permeability, filtration, and isolation performance, and can be used in slope management, roads, railways, dams, reclamation, and other engineering projects for filtration, isolation, drainage, and maintenance.
In agriculture and horticulture, PLA Needled Non-woven Fabric can be used to produce weed control fabric, bale wrap, and various sizes of planting bags.
In soil contact applications, the biodegradability of PLA fibers is a significant advantage, helping reduce the pollution caused by traditional non-degradable materials to the natural environment.
Biodegradability
PLA fibers and their products are relatively stable at normal temperature and humidity.
In natural environments with certain temperature and humidity (such as sandy soil, silt, seawater), PLA can be completely decomposed by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water. If PLA fibers are buried in the soil, the natural degradation time is about 2-3 years; if PLA fibers are mixed with organic waste and buried, they will decompose in just a few months.
In industrial composting conditions (temperature 58℃, humidity 98%, and microorganisms), PLA product waste can be completely decomposed into carbon dioxide and water within 3-6 months, providing very good environmental effects.
eSUNFiber's PLA fibers have passed the German DIN compostability certification and the US BPI degradability certification.
Breathability
PLA fibers have very good breathability. In practical applications, the good breathability of PLA fibers can effectively maintain soil and structural ventilation, promoting plant health and soil stability.
Hydrophilicity and Moisture Conductivity
PLA fibers have good hydrophilicity and moisture conductivity, with good permeability in geotextile applications, allowing for filtration and anti-seepage effects.
Strength and Durability
PLA fibers also have good physical properties, with good durability. Under normal use conditions, related products exhibit a long service life. In addition, PLA non-woven fabrics generally have good mechanical strength, suitable for various applications, and can withstand certain physical pressure and friction.
eSUNFiber PLA Fibers
eSUNFiber PLA Staples can be used to produce PLA Needled Non-woven Fabric in the range of 60g to 500g, as well as other related application products. The production process refers to traditional materials (such as polyester, polypropylene, etc.). Product colors include white, brown, grass green, etc., and custom colors are also supported.
